Our Organization

MCRP (Marine Care Ricketts Point Inc) is a volunteer group whose focus is on protecting the iconic Ricketts Point Marine Sanctuary, which was declared on 16th November 2002.

Our activities include:

Beach Patrols to remove rubbish and debris from around the sanctuary and document the amount of litter recovered to help direct any legislative changes to the area.
Snorkeling to monitor the condition of the reef under the water and identify and monitor its inhabitants. On an annual basis you can participate in the annual Sea Slug Census.
Speaker Events opportunities throughout the year to hear from a number of professional speakers to gain insight into conserving the natural and marine environment.
Educational Resources to encourage both young and old of the uniqueness of this Marine Sanctuary.
Partnering With Parks Victoria’s Sanctuary Manager, Bayside City Council and other government and non-governmental agencies.

Our Aims
